Master CIW Enterprise Developer Certification
The Master CIW Enterprise Developer certification is targeted at developers who build n-tier database and legacy connectivity solutions for Web applications using Java, Java APIs, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) solutions, middleware tools, and distributed object models such as CORBA/ORB and IIOP. The Master CIW Enterprise Developer certification complements job roles such as Database Developers, Internet Application Developers, Middleware Programmers, Java Developers and Client/Server Developers, to name a few.
In order to gain the Master CIW Enterprise Developer certification, candidates must first successfully pass the CIW Associates exam (1D0-510) and also have passed the Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 certification (exam 310-035 or 310-055 ) then pass a further 5 multiple-choice exams:
1D0-435 CIW JavaScript Fundamentals
50 questions, 75 minutes
Passing score is 75%
1D0-437 CIW JavaScript Fundamentals
50 questions, 75 minutes
Passing score is 75%
1D0-430 CIW Application Developer
60 questions, 75 minutes
Two modules:
Fundamentals of CGI Using Perl – 30 questions
Dynamic Server Pages – 30 questions
Passing score is 75% in total, with at least 70% in each of the two modules
1D0-441 CIW Database Specialist
54 questions, 75 minutes
Passing score is 75%
OR
1D0-541 CIW v5 Database Design Specialist
50 questions, 90 minutes
Six modules:
Relational Database Fundamentals – 18 questions
Relational Database Design and Application – 4 questions
Normalization and Database Design – 8 questions
Structured Query Language (SQL) – 10 questions
Relational Algebra and Databases – 5 questions
Transactions, Currency Control and Database Security – 5 questions
Passing score is 75%
1D0-442 CIW Enterprise Specialist
56 questions, 75 minutes
Passing score is 75%
Candidates will not qualify for the Master CIW Enterprise Developer qualification until all 6 CIW exams have been passed (the one CIW Associates exam plus the five Enterprise Developer exams) as well as the Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 exam.
The candidate can choose between either the 1D0-441 or the 1D0-541, and each of those exams earns a separate CIW certification on their own. Passing the 1D0-441 earns the candidate the CIW Professional qualification, while the 1D0-541 earns the candidate the CIW Database Design Specialist qualification.
Exams can be booked through Prometric or Pearson VUE testing centres and can be paid for by check, credit card or discount exam voucher. If a candidate fails an exam on the first attempt, they may not retake the exam for at least 24 hours. If the candidate fails on their second try (or any number of subsequent times) they must wait at least 30 calendar days for their next try.

The Master CIW Designer certification track is aimed at technology professionals who develop and maintain web sites using authoring and scripting languages, create content and digital media, and employ standards and technologies for both B2B and B2C web sites.
In order to take the Master CIW Designer exams, candidates must first successfully pass the CIW Associate exam. Once a CIW Associate, candidates must pass two exams to earn the Master CIW Designer credential. Those exams are:

70 questions, 75 minutes
Four modules:
Site Development Essentials – 11 questions
Web Design Elements – 13 questions
Basic Web Technologies – 26 questions
Advanced Web Technologies – 20 questions
Passing score is 70% across all four modules, with no minimum required in each module.
1D0-525 CIW v5 E-Commerce Designer
72 questions, 75 minutes
Three modules:
E-Commerce Site Development – 25 questions
E-Commerce Technology and Security – 33 questions
E-Commerce Business, Marketing and Legal Issues – 14 questions
Passing score is 68% across all four modules, with no minimum required in each module
Passing both of these exams will earn the candidate the title of Master CIW Designer.

CIW Professional Certification

The CIW Professional certification is a flexible, mid-level credential that allows candidates to tailor their credential to specific job roles, depending on their preference and demonstrate skills related to a particular discipline such as Web site design, security, server administration, application development or database management.
Aimed at candidates who are either pursuing or already working in mid-level technical roles, the CIW Professional certification requires passing just one exam with the CIW Associate exam as a prerequisite. The candidate may choose one exam from a total of 8 different options, depending on which area of expertise they wish to concentrate on. The 8 exam options are:

TCP/IP Internetworking – 30 questions
Advanced TCP/IP Concepts and Practices – 30 questions

60 questions, 75 minutes

Three modules:
Network Security and Firewalls – 22 questions
Operating Systems Security – 16 questions
Security Auditing, Attacks and Threat Analysis – 22 questions

1D0-430 CIW Application Developer
